About 40 pages are blank except for page numbers.
Two unnumbered pages between page 55 and 56.
Includes recipes for "Rebel Sugar Cake" (page 22), "Rebel Pudding" (page 23), "Rebel Wine" (pages 24, 58), and "Rebel Toilette Soap" (page 31).
Most recipes appear to have originated in Northern Maryland, Old Fields, Glencoe, and especially Filston. One recipe was handed down from author's grandmother, who lived on the Melrose plantation near what is Natchez, Mississippi. Author may have lived on Filston plantation.
