Inscription on recto of front free end-paper: "Ex libris comitis Petri de Pieruccijs[?], Febb. 1797[?]" (this is likely Count Pietro Pierucci); ink stamp on title page showing arms of the Grand Duke of Tuscany surrounded by text "Bibl. Caes. Med. Palat" (this is from the library of the Medici and Lorraine Grand Dukes, Palazzo Pitti, Florence); inscription at head of title page: "B. Daydon Jackson, 1877[?]" (this is likely Benjamin Daydon Jackson, bontanist and taxonomer, who lived from 1846 to 1927); embossed stamp from Library of Michigan State College of Agriculture and Applied Science on title leaf and in other locations throughout; "Rare Book Room" stamp in blue ink on title page verso, with penciled call number below; pocket with loose (Michigan State University?) Rare Book Room borrowing card adhered to rear paste-down, with stamped dates from 1935 and 1938 (removed during conservation) available in MSS 466 box 3 file 232.

MSU: Alternative names of some of the plants in ink in a nineteenth-century(?) hand in several locations throughout; small paper slips pasted to leaves I1v, 2H6r, and 2P1r, each with an ink drawing of a plant "ex Theatro Hieroglyptico Kircherij" (in same hand as other notes); Latin marginal notes in pencil and ink in two other (nineteenth-century?) hands in numerous locations throughout; inscription in ink in an early hand on rear paste-down: "8 90" (shelfmark?).
MSU: Residue from pressed flower(s) or petal(s) on leaf F6v.
MSU: Rear free end-paper reinforced with a strip of printed waste (likely from a nineteenth-century English publication); removed during conservation and now available in MSS 466, along with other paper fragments (one of which was likely reinforcing leaf 2I4; another of which has a small fragment of print).

In contemporary vellum over paste-boards; rebacked with newer vellum spine; boards tooled in gilt; spine lettered in gilt; red-speckled edges.
