Map showing a section of the Upper Peninsula, from "Little Bay de Noquet" [Little Bay de Noc] and the area of the present-day city of Escanaba on Lake Michigan, north to the area of the present-day city of Marquette on Lake Superior. Coverage area includes portions of present-day Delta and Marquette counties. Shows most of the course of the "Esconawba River" [Escanaba River]. Shows areas of "clay slate granite," metamorphic rocks, granite, "Potsdam red sand rock," "calciferous sand rock," "Birds Eye & Trenton lime rock," and "Cincinnati blue lime rock." Shows Public Land Survey System township boundaries and some section lines.
