The paper is partly based on interviews with Kedzie's son, Professor Frank Stewart Kedzie. The thesis gives an overview of Robert Kedzie's life, outlining his education and the various jobs he held, including his time as professor at Michigan State College (now Michigan State University). At M.S.C., Robert Kedzie was the head of the chemistry department and did much to promote the college.

545 |a Hugh Allen Shadduck graduated from Michigan Agricultural College (now Michigan State University in 1924 with a B.S. in Applied Science. He later earned his Ph.D. in 1930 from the University of Chicago. Shadduck went on to become a research chemist at the Universal Atlas Cement Company.
