In First blood, an ex-Green Beret haunted by memories of Vietnam is searching for peace, but finds instead an overzealous, small town sheriff who's spoiling for a fight.
In Rambo, First blood part II, John Rambo is recruited for a highly secret and dangerous mission in the jungles of Vietnam to locate missing American POW's.
In Rambo III, John Rambo is living a secluded life in a Buddhist monastery in search of inner peace. When friend and mentor Col. Sam Trautman visits to ask for his help in a top secret mission to Afghanistan, Rambo declines to enter another war.
In Rambo, Vietnam veteran John Rambo has withdrawn into a simple and secluded existence in Thailand. Even though he is looking to avoid trouble, trouble finds him. A group of Christian missionaries approach Rambo with the desire to rent his boat to travel up the river to Burma, which is a war zone.
