Mr. Clemente was a baseball player who played right field with the Pittsburgh Pirates in the National League. His mother, sister and fiancee' visited him in Pittsburgh in 1964. Mr. Clemente received an extortion letter in 1972. The letter threatened him with being shot during a game in September 1972. He played the game without incident. No further threats were received, so no additional action was taken concerning the threat. He spent his off-seasons in Puerto Rico.
