These procedures, which are designed to allow the examination of informational structure and cognitive content, (1) segment uniformized texts into informant-delimited sentences, (2) define informational statements, (3) determine the lexical composition of informational statements, and (4) determine the cultural classification of terms. Changes in the original research design are enumerated, and a textual sample with analysis is provided. Some remarks are offered on the significance of this research to the teaching of reading comprehension. (AF)
