Provided in the first issue are two book reviews; a description of research; course outlines for Native American Studies and the Iroquouis, an interdisciplinary approach; descriptions of proposed native American studies programs and active Indian studies programs; an article on American Indian law; faculty positions available in Indian studies; names of universities currently recruiting native American students; announcement of conferences; and a list of periodicals. This newsletter is made available free of charge to universities, tribal organizations, interested Indian and non-Indian scholars, and to Indian newsletters in the U.S. and Canada.
