|a A set of APL (A Programing Language) programs written for use on a time-sharing IBM System/370 computer and used to aid in the teaching of selected econometric concepts is described. The programs involve the simulation of a set of n observations; of a simple regression model Y = A BX U; the plotting of the Y and X simulated values; the estimation of the regression coefficients A and B and their comparison with the true population coefficients; and the plotting of the estimated and true regression lines for comparative purposes. The uses of the programs in teaching the statistical concepts and their applications to econometric problems are described, and sample outputs are shown. (WDR)
