The document consists of 12 sections based on comments on the film together with discussion and questions under the following headings: (1) film overview, (2) opening the interview, (3) explaining the role of the legal assistant, (4) getting the client to talk about his problem, (5) expressing concern for the client's predicament, (6) exploring the client's social situation, (7) focused fact-gathering, (8) handling client's feelings, (9) getting the consent of an informed client, (10) promising success and giving legal advice, (11) closing the interview, and (12) epilogue. A discussion of issues involved in determining disability under the Social Security Act and a bibliography conclude the document. (EC)
