Some of the key findings were: 94% of the public television licensees provided educational services in 1978-79, 76% provided more than one million copies of curriculum material to accompany their kindergarten through grade 12 (K-12) programing, and 66% delivered K-12 instructional television programs in nonbroadcast formats such as video tapes. Additionally, licensees reported servicing an estimated 36% of the potential K-12 market in their viewing areas, licensees have established regular liaisons with many colleges, 75% of the licensees plan to broadcast more postsecondary programing series, 65% expect to distribute more secondary programing in nonbroadcast formats, and 59% expect to increase use of nonbroadcast for postsecondary programing.
