|a In this interview, Betty Moore discusses growing up in the Spring Lake area. She recalls local businesses, including the grape industry, and gives a detailed description of a meat market during the early part of the twentieth century. She also talks about the Civilian Conservation Corps' and the Works Progress Administration's local role during the Depression and mentions the Spring Lake Hotel and Mineral Springs, the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter The Escanaba, and Native Americans that lived in the area.
