Summary:
Janet Warm Jones Grant was born in 1929 in Grand Haven and lived on Lake Michigan all her life. Her father, Harold Warm, owned lake front property from the North Pier in Grand Haven to what is Hoffmaster Park in Norton Shores today. Janet details the development and history of the North Shore property, especially The Cabana Colony Club, which was a popular nightspot offering cabins, dancing and entertainment prior to World War II. During the war, the club closed down and the cabins sold and moved to Spring Lake soon after. About this time, Harold and his son David formed the Michigan Development Company.
