He was also active in the Tri-Cities Historical Society and as part of the Coast Guard Festival management team. He served on the Board of Light and Power and the Duncan Park Commission and devoted over sixty years of service to the Boy Scouts. In 1973, he was given the Meritorious Public Service Award for his work with the United States Coast Guard and the promotion of the Grand Haven Coast Guard Festival. In this interview, Glenn discusses his projects with the Coast Guard, including the dedication of the mast of the USCG cutter Escanaba, and his continued interest in Duncan Woods.
