520 |a This report describes a curriculum that enables students from Hartford Public High School to take a course which is relevant to the Early Childhood Program at Greater Hartford Community College. Successful completion of the course enables students to earn three college credits and meet high school graduation requirements. Objectives of the project concern: (1) general and academic competencies, learning objectives, course content, and instructional methodology; (2) eligibility requirements for participation in the program; (3) a system for monitoring and guiding students; (4) preparation of brochures and pamphlets which describe the Greater Hartford Community College degree and certificate programs; (5) recruitment activities for qualified students of Hartford Public High School; and (6) a mechanism to conduct an ongoing evaluation of the program. Appendixes include a career questionnaire, a post-evaluation questionnaire, a 15-week lesson plan, a form for visitations or observations, handouts, and a list of assignments and readings. (RJC)
