Robert Vander Molen is a writer, born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He completed his BA in advertising from Michigan State University in 1971 and earned an MFA in English from the University of Oregon in 1973. Vander Molen participated in two Fellowships: The MacDowell Colony (1973) and the Ossabaw Island Project (1979). He has had several poetry collections published, including: "Blood Ink"(1967), "The Pavilion and Other Poems" (1974), "Peaches" (1998) and "Water" (2009). The Robert Vander Molen Papers archive is divided into four series. Series I contains both personal and professional correspondence written to the author between 1962-2004. Series II contains the author's written works in both draft and published formats. Series III is a set of written works by his collegues and collected by Robert Vander Molen. Series IV is a miscellaneous collection of the author's ephemera, poetry reading and contest announcements, and grant application materials.
