Biographical Sketch:
The Spartan Women's League was founded in 1931 by two students, Mabel Petersen and Pearl Perrin, both members of the class of 1932. The purpose of the organization was to help the women at Michigan State to create stronger friendships, to develop leadership, to be of service to the campus community, and to enter teams in competitive athletic sports. SWL sponsored events such as good grooming workshops and dances.
