545 |a Beatrice Paolucci was born August 13, 1920 in Illinois. Paolucci held a Bachelor's degree in Home Economics from Illinois Wesleyan University, a Master's degree in Family Life from Columbia University, and a Doctorate in Education from Michigan State University. She taught in the College of Human Ecology at Michigan State University for over 30 years, from 1951 to 1983. She served as Chairperson of the Department of Family and Child Science from 1967 to 1969, and again from 1970 to 1973. Paolucci was a guest lecturer at Texas Christian University and the University of Missouri, and held the Camilla Eyring Kimball Chair of Home and Family Life at Brigham Young University in 1983. Paolucci wrote or co-wrote four books and numerous articles. She received many honors, including a 1968 MSU Distinguished Faculty Award, a 1981 Osbourne Teaching Award from the National Council of Family Relations, a 1975 Distinguished Alumni Award from Illinois Wesleyan University, and a 1981 Distinguished Faculty Women's award from MSU. Paolucci died of cancer on October 1, 1983 in Illinois. Following her death, Michigan State University changed the name of the Home Management Building to the Paolucci Building.
