|a Dr. David Robinson, Michigan State University Professor Emeritus of History and African Studies, is interviewed by MSU Librarian Peter Limb and Dr. David Wiley, Director of the MSU African Studies Center. Robinson explains how he became interested in West Africa during his college years and in association with Christian organizations, traveled to the region to aid displaced persons. Robinson also describes his research and human rights interests, his growing network of African scholars, how the field of African studies has changed and how his own work uses an African focus. Wiley notes the quality of scholarship which Robinson has brought to MSU and Robinson talks about his work at the university, the challenges of developing an online digital African library for use around the world, and his ongoing connections with West African colleges. Part of the African Studies Interview Series sponsored by the MSU Libraries and the MSU African Studies Center.
