Map covers the region from James Bay to just below Ft. Duquesne and from Lake Ontario through the Great Plains. It contains numerous Indian tribe names and forts, including Detroit, St. Louis, Toronto and Chicago. The supposed source of the Mississippi is shown. Prepared by R.Bonne and included in his Atlas Ecyclopďique. Rigobert Bonne (1727-1795) was an engineer, mathematician and cartographer, active in Paris. He succeeded Jacques-Nicolas Bellin as hydrographer at the Depot de la Marine in 1773. He is most notable for his Atlas maritime , Neptune Amřique septentrionale , Atlas encyclopedique.. in two-volumes with Nicolas Demarest and Bory de St. Vincent. Engraved by André.
