Summary:
This documentary is a pleasing journey through some of California's spectacular scenery, with snapshots of key inventors and pioneers thrown in along with segments on extreme sports. The idea is that California's unique geography, its end-of-America flavor, and open spirit inspire people to take chances. It's an odd mix, but it suits the California style to have people like John Muir, Walt Disney and David Packard sharing the screen with dizzying sky surfers, Sierra mountain snowboarders, and wetsuit clad dare-devils riding monster waves at Maverick's.
