The Battle of Iwo Jima.

One of the most important battles of the U.S. Marines' island-hopping campaign and resulted in one of WWII's most memorable images: the heroic flag raising on Mt. Suribachi. If the Marines could take Iwo Jima, the U.S. would be closer to final victory.
