Description
Summary:
"Sahel is the Arabic World for 'border.' This seasonally dry West African Region of steppes, thorny woodlands and savannas forms the borderline between the Sahara Desert and the tropical rainforests to the South. Our journey across the Sahel begins on Atlantic shores. In Senegal, it includes the infamous slavehouse on Goree Island and West Africa's largest National Park, the Niokolo-Koba on the river Gambia. In Mali we take a sand track to the edge of the desert, and then drive through the countryside to the capital of Bamako where we learn about African Art. We continue along the inland delta of the Niger River to the historic town of Djenne and on to Mopti -- the gateway to Timbuktu. Our final destination is the exotic Dogon Country of the Bandigara [sic] Escarpment. Join us while we consult with gris gris diviners, visit colorful markets, and learn about the salt trade across the Sahara."--Container and www.travelvideostore.com.
