Bottle shock: Based on a true story of love, victory and fermentation, this is the story of the early days of California wine making featuring the now infamous, blind Paris wine tasting of 1976 that has come to be known as "Judgment of Paris".
Sideways: Jack and Miles were college roommates, and despite their differences, they have been friends ever since. Jack is an actor, whose career high point is a stint as a soap opera regular. English teacher and oenophile Miles would much rather be a published novelist. Jack is about to get married, so depressed, divorced Miles suggests they hit the road for a week-long bachelor party amidst the rolling hillsides and gorgeous sunsets of wine country near Santa Barbara. A little golf, a lot of wine, how could it possibly go sideways?
A good year: Max Skinner is a ruthless, successful English investment broker with no time for life outside of his job. When his uncle dies, Max inherits the chateau and vineyard in the south of France where he grew up, but he then meets a potential rival to the inheritance, a young American who claims to be his illegitimate cousin. His first intention is to sell the vineyard as quickly as possible, but while spending time in Provence, Max "finds his soul when he loses his heart to a French beauty." |
