Program 4, The Trojan city: Examines the connection between The Iliad and Troy. For centuries The Iliad was considered to be more fiction than fact. In 1873, controversial archaeologist Heinrich Schliemann, using clues from Homer's epic poem, discovered the remains of the city he believed to be Troy. Examines evidence found during the 1990s which confirmed Schnliemann's findings and gave new credence to Homer's account.
