| Note: | "Still was designed and printed by Jenna Rodriguez while she was the Victor Hammer Fellow at Wells College Book Arts Center in Aurora, New York. Still was letterpress printed with the exception of the digital x-rays. The type was casted in Joanna at Michael and Winifred Bixler Letterfoundry. The animals were scanned and made into polymer plates. A special thanks to Cayuga Veterinary Services for allowing me to x-ray the animals. The paper is Strathmore Premium super smooth soft white and Curious Skins translucents. The covers are handmade paper from recycled clothing. The animals were found along Route 90 on my commute to and from Wells. Nicholas Rodriguez and Cosmo Carelli wrote the obituaries [...]. The tally marks represent every deceased animal I passed on Route 90 for one month, which consisted of 20 squirrels, 2 possums, 7 raccoons, 6 birds, 1 goose, 1 turtle, 5 frogs, 1 woodchuck, 6 deer, 1 dog, 2 skunks, and 2 unknown. Pages are cardboard; some have translucent overlays with X-rays of the animals superimposed on the drawings of their bodies. Ten leaves have indentations wherein photographic prints of the animals are inserted. |
