The Haeckel images are some of the most beautiful drawings/prints I have seen in natural history illustrations. Radiolaria are a form of protozoa that produce intricate mineral skeletons. The forms of the actual specimens that make up the Haeckel illustrations are incredibly intricate and diverse.
