Description
Summary:	One horrifying night in 1983, Diane Downs and her children arrive at a Springfield, Oregon hospital suffering from gunshot wounds. Downs claims they were attacked on a deserted road by a man who tried to steal her car. One daughter dies days later. Her toddler son is paralyzed. Her eight-year-old daughter, Karen, is maimed and so traumatized that she is unable to speak. Outraged by the heinous crime, assistant DA Frank Joziak launches a full scale investigation. He gradually becomes that Downs has attempted to murder her children because her boyfriend did not want to be a father. The truth is finally revealed in one of the most publicized cases in American history.
