Panelists describe their research, teaching and writing efforts and explore the causes of income inequality, voters reacting to social issues rather than economic issues, implicit and overt bias, racial inequality in K-12 education, and poverty and individual resilience. Panelists are Charles Ballard, professor of Economics, NiCole T. Buchanan, professor of Psychology, Django Paris, professor of Teacher Education, Angie Kennedy, professor of Social Work, and Paulette Granberry Russell, from the MSU Office for Inclusion and Intercultural Initiatives. Cynthia Jackson-Elmoore, dean of the MSU Honors College, convenes the session and moderates questions from the audience.
