Description
Summary:
"This is the story of the life and times of Ronald Ngala, one of the founding fathers of the Kenyan nation. In 1957 he was one of the first eight African elected members of Kenya's Legislative Council and was Chief Minister in the interim government that preceded Kenya's independence. He was the leader of the Kenya African Democratic Union (KADU), whose demands for a federal or majimbo type of government were incorporated into the country's first constitution. After KADU lost the 1963 general election, he served as leader of the official opposition in Parliament for a year before dissolving his party to join the ruling African National Union (KANU), upon which he would exert a moderating influence throughout the rest of his life"--Container.
