Organizations and publications represented within the collection include the Students for a Democratic Society, POLIT, Student Representative Party (SRP), Maroon Chicago, and the Federation of American Scientists (F.A.S.) newsletter. Subjects include anti-McCarthyism, anti-nuclear weapons, peace, affordable college education, communism, socialism, academic freedom, anti-Vietnam war, and civil rights.

Biographical Sketch:
Robert ("Bob") Stein is a professor emeritus of Astronomy and Astrophysics at Michigan State University. He earned a PhD from Columbia University in 1965.
