Description
Summary:
"I have reasons for making this zine. Partly out of boredom, a little bit out of wanting to be creative for once, but mostly out of desperation. Feeling desperate to have and continue a conversation that's being co-opted and sterilized, or slowly brushed-aside, and the people who try to have this conversation ridiculed or ostracized. Racism in the punk scene is treated like a dormant sickness: it's only real if you keep paying attention to it. I hear the same thing form other punks of color finding these same road blocks in their own scenes, their cliques, their communities. Somehow bringing racist ideas and behaviors to the attention of people who claim to be your peers is worse than racism itself, leaving many feeling like they should just remain silent. The vital concerns of punks of color are consistently swatted down and called 'divisive' or, according to the simple minded, 'racist in and of themselves'. I am to put a stop that fuck shit."--Page [1].
