The collection was acquired approximately in 2014 as part of the ROVI collection.
Biographical Sketch:
In the mid-2000s, Sony BMG implemented software such as Extended Copy Protection and MediaMax CD-3 on their CDs as a form of copy protection. When a user plays the CD on a computer, the software installs onto the user⁰₉ś computer and modifies the operating system to restrict CD copying. Often users did not realize that it was installed because it uses a cloaking function to prevent anit-virus software from detecting them and the software was not easily to uninstall.
