Lincoln" (this is the antiquarian and founder of the Spalding Gentlemen's Society, who lived from 1688 to 1755); marginalia, likely in Johnson's hand, comparing printed text to an unidentified manuscript, on leaves C4v and 2G2v; "descendit ad Inf." inscribed (in Johnson's hand?) in margin of leaf 2C1v; incorrect foliation corrected in ink on leaves N2r and U3r; notes concerning passages of interest and their corresponding leaf numbers written (in Johnson's hand?) on leaves 2G2r and 2G2v; several inscriptions in pencil on bookplate; several bookseller's inscriptions in pencil on rear paste-down, including "C.P. / 31.3.98 Hz[?]" (likely a reference to the 1898 Sotheby's sale at which some of Johnson's library was offered); two copies of bookseller's description (one fragmentary; each slightly different), by Liber Antiquus, Early Books & Manuscripts, Chevy Chase, Maryland, available in MSS 466, box 4, folder 235.
