Numbering Peculiarities

Vol. 2 covers 1887-1899. Vol. 5 was issued in two editions: a preliminary edition, covering the period 1923-1927, was published in a Bible paper edition by the Commerce Clearing House, Inc., New York, 1928; the second, covering 1923-1932 and incorporating the material of the preliminary edition, was published uniform with vols. 1-4 by the Bobbs-Merrill Company, Indianapolis, 1933.
