Dabei wird das tagespolitische Geschehen in ihren Gedanken oft überlagert von der wachsenden Sorge um den Zustand der Natur, deren Veränderungen die studierte Biologin mit präzisen Beobachtungen wahrnimmt.

With quite ambivalent feelings: on the one hand she consciously enjoys her self-chosen retreat in Tielenhemme "on the edge of the world" - far away from the beaten track, so to speak - but on the other hand the dramatic news from radio and television exert an irresistible attraction on her to comment. The day-to-day political events are often overshadowed in her thoughts by the growing concern about the state of nature, the changes in which the qualified biologist perceives with precise observations.
