|a Michigan State University professor of electrical engineering, Gerald Park, discusses the feasibility of windmills in Michigan economically and culturally. Dennis Krolick begins recording by discussing the Persian Gulf crisis, and how this crisis is causing the United States to start searching for alternate sources of energy. Gerald Park asserts that windmills would not work in Michigan for a number of reasons. Mainly, Park believes that Michigan doesn't have the wind power to create the power needed to pay off the installation of these windmills. He also addresses that in order for windmills to work, there would have to be thousands of them all along the lake shores of Michigan, creating eye sores all across the state.
