Original two-pence tax stamp on title page; contemporary or near-contemporary inscription on verso of fly-leaf facing title page: "Ann Cackett[?] her book"; blank leaves incised with stylus (see binding note below), mostly with circular doodles but perhaps also with letters; bookseller's description by Liber Antiquus, Chevy Chase, Maryland, available in MSS 466.

In contemporary full gilt red calf, including flap, in cottage-roof style; metal attachment on flap secures to metal locking mechanism in center of lower board (includes key and secret "bypass" mechanism); slot incorporated in to flap for storage of a metal stylus (included); gilt edges; gilt paper paste-downs (signed "Johan Wilhelm [...]"); one folding pocket inside of each board; numerous blank fly-leaves, including two pairs of waxed sheets (for use with stylus); signature A interleaved with blanks.
