Inscription on leaf a2v: "John Higgs = Cost 9s-6d, bought in ye year 1659" (crossed out); English equivalents of Greek letters noted in text on leaf Q3v in an early hand (some incorrect); the same, with the Hebrew alphabet, on leaf 2F5v; "Edward Swallow" inscribed in an early hand on leaf D7r; inscription on leaf 2C1v: "Edward Swallow is my name and England is my nation and Hamm is my Habitation"; inscription in an early hand (Swallow's?) on leaf E3v: "This Book Cost me ten shillings & six pence"; marginal notes in an early hand (Swallow's?) in numerous locations throughout; inscription on leaf a2v calculating age of this book in 1730; another inscription, in pencil, on leaf a2v, calculating age of this book in 1843 (?); inscription in pencil (19th-century?) on leaf E3v: "Worth in 1878 Three Guineas"; "J. F." in title expanded to "J. Freake" in manuscript (19th-century hand?); underlinings, textual markings, and marginal markings in several locations throughout, both in ink and pencil.

In modern sympathetic calf; boards and spine tooled in blind; four raised bands on spine; earlier binding, removed during conservation in 2020, stored in box with item: full contemporary calf, rebacked with (20th-century?) calf; boards and spine tooled in blind; spine lettered in gilt; evidence of marbled paste-downs under modern paste-downs.
