Special Collections copy: Inscription in black ink on first front fly-leaf recto and title page: Albert Einstein, 1931; bookseller’s ticket of The Antiquariat Books, Tucson, on rear paste-down; typed letter from Robert R. Anderson, of The Antiquariat, Tucson, to Robert C. Thomas, dated 11 August 1978, found laid in item and now available in MSS 466; letter states: The former owner, a Mrs. Bitgood of Tucson, sold us her library, which included the Einstein, some time ago. It was my understanding at the time that either she or her husband had acquired the signature directly.
