The earliest known Louisiana imprint. : A New Orleans broadside of 1764, printed by Denis Braud, first printer of Louisiana, publicizing a message from the King of France to his director general in Louisiana, advising the latter of cession of the colony to the King of Spain and directing him to deliver over Louisiana to the governor general to be named by the Spanish king. Reproduced in facsimile from the only known copy of the broadside in the Biblioteca Parsoniana, New Orleans, to illustrate an address at the meeting of the Southern Historical Association in New Orleans, November the 4th, 1938
