Copy 2: Inscription on recto of front free end-paper in both volumes: "Neander" (this is Johann August Wilhelm Neander [1789-1850], a convert from Judaism who became a leading scholar of Christian church history); 19th-century bookplate on pink paper on front paste-down of both volumes, printed with "Neander Library" and "no.", with blank space filled in manuscript with "2636" in volume 1 and "2637" in volume 2; "2636" inscribed at foot of page [III] in volume 1; "2637" inscribed at foot of page [2] in volume 2; embossed stamp visible on first three leaves of both volumes: "Library, Rochester Theo'l Seminary"; two former shelf-marks in pencil on verso of title page in both volumes (crossed out); remanants of a bookplate or paper label on front paste-down of both volumes; bookseller's description, by Philadelphia Rare Books & Manuscripts, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, found in both volumes, and now available in MSS 466, Box 6, Folder 4.
