Numbering Peculiarities

Volume numbering begins with vol. 120 for 1931. Proceedings for 1952-1953 issued in two sections: Section A, v. 166-167, 1952-1953, and Section B, v. 1, 1952-53. From 1891-1921 contains "Institution of Mechanical Engineers. Alloys Research Committee. Report ", q.v. Proceedings for v.178 (1963/1964)-v. 184 (1969/1970) were issued in 3 parts. Part 1 [General proceedings] contains numbered papers (i.e., Vol. 178, pt. 1, no. 1). Pt. 2A is proceedings of the Automobile Division. Pt. 3 [Conference proceedings], contains individual items designated 3A, 3B, 3C ... [etc.], where each item is the proceedings of a symposium.
