Description
Summary:
This report comprises a collection of summaries of exploratory efforts by college professors at member institutions of the Committee on Institutional Cooperation (CIC) to develop new and better ways of teaching. Usually these are local experiments aimed at improving the conditions for learning in a specific subject-matter area, but many of the procedures can easily be generalized for application in other departments, or they may stimulate the search for fresh alternatives. The substantive entries in Section I, Subject-Matter Areas, is of particular interest to classroom teachers. Section II, University-Wide Activities, includes descriptions of institutional facilities, instructional media arrangements, and broad programs that span the disciplines. Section III is the cumulative index to all 8 published reports by subject area, and Section IV is a cumulative index by categories. (Author/HS)
