520 |a Training is a major component in the development of an organization and in helping it to deal with social, organizational, and technological change. Planning training activities or developing an inservice education program involves several steps: establishing goals for training, planning a training design with sequence and continuity, selecting and preparing for specific training activities, conducting the training program, and evaluating the effectiveness of the training program. Training methods available include: lecture and discussion, case method, role playing, laboratory method and various audiovisual methods. Evaluation is an important aspect of a training program and can also be helpful in the improvement of future programs. Suggestions for increasing the accuracy and usefulness of evaluation cover the choice of aspects of the program to be evaluated, process and methods used and methods of reporting evaluations.
