The first section presents a flow chart and a list of standards for seven competencies: referral; definition of concern; assessment selection; data collection, analysis, and interpretation; diagnosis; psychological intervention; and followup, support, and evaluation. The second section presents a monitoring checklist which is explained to allow for self review of professional services, planning, and review of major steps involved in due process. The final section describes a service review system which evaluates the extent to which the competencies and standards were implemented in case by case study. Two methods, a quality rating approach which involves ratings by the service provider and service reviewer, and the compliance review method, which poses specific questions related to the standards, are discussed.
