|a Collaboration as a strategy to improve the instructional effectiveness of a school's faculty is examined in this bulletin. The first of four chapters provides a brief discussion of teacher isolation and its consequences and the positive effects of collaboration on school renewal, teacher satisfaction, teacher learning, cooperation among students, and school governance. The remaining chapters consider steps toward introducing collaboration in schools. These measures include the principal's role in advising teachers, supporting collegiality, and adopting a collaborative management style; the implementation of programs ranging from an organizational development strategy to faculty planning groups; and the practical considerations of time, finances, and training.
