Description
Summary:
Designed to provide a statistical profile of Central College (CC) in Kansas, a two-year, residential, liberal arts and career-entry college affiliated with the Free Methodist Church of North America, this five-part fact book examines the mission and history, faculty, enrollment, academic program, and financial resources of the college. The first section explains the purposes and objectives of CC, offers a history of the college's significant turning points, and lists the agencies accrediting CC and the associations of which it is a member. The remaining sections present data tables, generally highlighting trends and changes between 1984 and 1990. The second section contains faculty data, including the number of full- and part-time teaching faculty; annual rate of faculty retention; faculty salaries and fringe benefits; average grades assigned by individual faculty members; grade comparisons; faculty utilization by department; faculty-student ratios; and student evaluations of faculty. The third section focuses on admissions and enrollments, including new student applications and admissions, 5-year student enrollment figures, student exchange between CC and McPherson College, on-campus student housing, students' state of residency and religious preference, retention rates, career program enrollments, career choices of transfer students, and sophomore career plans. The fourth section examines the academic program, providing data on freshman American College Testing program scores, class size, credit hours earned and taught, course offerings, associate degree graduates, and library resources and circulation. In addition, follow-up responses to entry/exit surveys, graduate surveys, and departmental follow-ups are presented. The final section focuses on financial resources, covering institutional operations income and expenditures, annual balance sheet, endowment fund summary, student financial aid, annual charges to students, and current and non-current fund gift income.
