Description
Summary:
This volume represents the first step in an effort to build a central repository of promising anti-violence programs. The goal is to integrate information and to remove barriers to information-sharing. Part of a cooperative venture in the federal government, this resource guide draws on material stored in more than 30 Federal clearinghouses and resource centers. Included here are programs developed by government agencies, private foundations, religious and fraternal associations, and others. This volume presents a list of sources for technical assistance, information, and potential funding to support anti-violence programs. Some of the topics addressed here include community, family, youth, criminal and juvenile justice, and physical and mental health. Numerous curriculums and other teaching materials are offered which emphasize the prevention of child abuse, community violence, family violence, gang violence, rape, and youth violence. Information is also presented on the treatment of victims. Details on funding sources are broken down into three categories: foundations, federal sources, and publications on funding. Two indexes provide names and page numbers for information sources and technical assistance by subject areas, and an alphabetical listing of foundation and Federal funding sources. (RJM)
