Chapter 3 examines the social and economic forces driving the changes in college mission and operation, while chapter 4 reviews the origins and functions of organizational culture. Chapter 5 discusses the importance of leadership in establishing a shared vision, chapter 6 focuses on the spiritual dimension of leadership, and chapter 7 applies the concept of learning-based education to community college organization. The eighth chapter examines problems with the traditional vertical management of the colleges; the ninth asserts the importance of staying student-centered in reorganizing colleges; and the tenth reviews elements of team-building leadership.
